A former reporter and producer, she left the news world in 2018 and now specializes in creating and implementing targeted marketing and communications plans for the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Within the GWHCC Ortiz seeks to build measurable brand awareness and position the Chamber as the leading resource for small businesses in the DC Metropolitan Region.She is a two-time Emmy Nominated Reporter, Producer and Editor. In 2019 she co-founded PJI Digital Media, a full-service digital agency with a media company approach. She is an active member of the American Marketing Association, the Member Experience Leader for the neXco B2B DC Chapter and is an alumni of The Washington Center’s Federal Diversity Internship Initiative and the Córdova and Fernós Internship Program. Her expertise includes multicultural marketing communications, digital marketing, brand development, media relations, event planning and promotion. Founded in 1976, the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a membership driven organization that supports the economic development of the Washington, DC metropolitan region by facilitating the success of Latino and other minority-owned businesses and the communities they serve through networking, advocacy, education, and access to capital.The considerable increase in the Hispanic population over the past decades has signified an overall growth in its purchasing power and business ownership, and as these projections continue to rise, the importance of maintaining a stronger Chamber is further escalated.
