Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising partner of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Created in 2006 to help fund emergency medical care, dental care, spay and neuter for community cats, parasite prevention for dogs, cats and rabbits, collars, tags and leashes for adopted dogs and cats and animal enrichment programs. Friends provides funding over and above what the County of Fairfax's budget can provide. We provide about 25% of the Shelters budget each year. Friends joins in the Shelter’s effort to ensure every shelter pet is offered the best opportunity to find and remain in a loving forever home.

Community members who would like to partner with us and want to make a difference in the lives of pets at the Animal Shelter waiting for their forever homes. Partnerships are available at every level and we can tailor a partnership to meet the needs of the individual or business. There are ways to donate goods and services for our silent auctions that are held at our annual events. Community members can join our golf or wine event or host an event to help Friends raise money for the pets at the Shelter.
