I graduated the US Merchant Marine Academy where I majored in Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation, and graduated B. S. degree. I earned a commission in the United States Naval Reserve and passed United States Coast Guard license tests to attain both the Third Assistant Engineer Steam and Motor Vessels for Unlimited Horsepower, and Third Mate on Oceans Unlimited Tonnage licenses.
After graduation I worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in the Nuclear Shift Test Engineering program.
I left the shipyard to sail as a shipboard engineer when the nation mobilized to liberate Kuwait after Iraq invaded it in 1990. I continued sailing as a shipboard engineer culminating as Chief Engineer about 4 120,000 horsepower steam ships, and also working aboard 2 120,000 horsepower gas turbine ships.
When I concluded my sailing career, I entered the financial services industry with a major life insurance company. After learning many important lessons about insurance, I attained my securities licenses and focused my career on investing money as a fiduciary from the outset.
My wife and I have been married since 2000, and we have 2 grown children. We enjoy attending college and professional sporting events, and are members of St. Therese Parish in Mooresville, NC.

About Us
We serve as independent investment fiduciaries for approximately $1.8 Billion of ERISA plan assets, with clients on Main Street, in the industrial park at the edge of town, and publicly traded corporations.
We use a prudent patented process that evaluates investments to ERISA standards that removes the investment selection, monitoring, retention, and replacement liability from the plan sponsor.
We used these processes to support attorneys involved in retirement plan litigation, where we worked plaintiff's counsels winning financial awards for employees of Advance Auto Parts and Rollins, Inc. among others.
We also worked with defense counsel to get lawsuits dismissed in other cases.
We apply the lessons learned in litigation to protect our clients from future liability and litigation.
While agnostic about the plan record keeping and bookkeeping operations, we assist our clients to determine the most cost-effective compensation method for plan services, often finding ways to shift 25 percent or more of plan costs into the pockets of the employees.
All client-facing investment adviser representatives have at least 20 years of experience working with ERISA plans, and as individuals and organizations we have a clean compliance record. SEC disclosures available upon request, or at https://adviserinfo.sec.gov.

Ideal Customers
My ideal client is someone who wants to see every person in the organization have a decent probability of having enough money a comfortable retirement based upon the 401k/403b plan.
They want to have someone handle the liability for a plan's investment process, and a menu of investments that are prudent to an ERISA standard.
They want the fees they pay for plan services to be beneficial to the employees.
We serve plans nationwide, and are industry agnostic, although I prefer to work with engineering/architecture firms, CPA firms, attorneys, and dental practices.
